Mission & Vision
The mission
of ATE is stated in the Constitution and in the Strategic
Plan. Here we have formulated a vision for where ATE will
be in year 2009, which assumes or believes that Tanzania will
experience sustainable economic development, accompanied with
a fast-growing formal labour market:
ATE will in 2009:
- be the employer association which in social partnership
negotiations has deciding influence on the formulation
of labour market policies and legislation
- be the recognised and effective agent of advocacy on
behalf of the majority of Tan-zanian employers
- provide one-stop, personalised solutions to members
so that they can meet the challenges of and ripe the benefits
of the fast-growing formal labour market
We have formulated six strategic goals to support the achievement
of our vision. Three of these goals concern the re-sults of ATE's
work - and are thus directly related to the vision, while three
goals concern the strength of ATE needed to reach the results.
The below figure illustrates the links between the goals - i.e.
that ATE needs many members, sound finances, and a competent secretariat
to be able to represent member interests, assist members in disputes
and conflicts, and provide high-quality services and advice to
members.
