ATE this month issued circular No.01 of 2017 to all members after receiving a Public Notice from the PRIME MINISTER’S OFFICE -Labour, Youth, Employment and Persons with Disabilities on the VERIFICATION OF WORK PERM I T I S S U E D U N D E R T H E N O N C I T I Z E N ( E M P L O Y M E N T R E G U LATION) ACT No. 1/2015. “A non-citizen working without a valid work permit issued by the Labour Commissioner is committing an offence. Thus, all employers and investors are obliged to comply with the law,” said part of the notice.
All non-citizens have been called upon to submit their work permits to their nearest area of Labour Offices for verification within 30 days from the date of the public notice as it appeared in the Daily News of Tuesday, 22nd February 2017. More details
